On The Trail Of The Secret Of Chocolate
For school groups from middle-school levels upwards, we offer an extended general tour. Try unfinished chocolate from various stages of production and discover where the beans can be found in the cocoa fruit. You can also peel and taste a real cocoa bean.
Does chocolate grow on trees? Has there always been chocolate? Come and discover where cocoa grows and how it is cultivated and harvested. Follow the long journey from cocoa bean to liquid chocolate and take a look at the machines in the glass-walled chocolate factory. Here, you can see how chocolate bars, Easter bunnies, Father Christmases and truffles are made. The exhibition "Brown gold – Sweet seduction" reveals how long chocolate has been enjoyed and why it took more than 4000 years before everyone had access to chocolate. Including you: tasting at the chocolate fountain is part of the tour.
Suitable for middle and upper school levels.
